Sunflower oil is vegetable oil obtained from sunflower seeds. Oil grades of sunflower are used for this purpose.

There are two types of sunflower oil:

Pressed (obtained by cold pressing)
Extracted (obtained with organic solvents)

It is also classified by its degree of purification:

Refined oil
Unrefined oil

Sunflower oil production technology consists of the following steps:

Seed cleaning
Pressing — cold pressing of seeds to obtain oil
Extraction — extracting the remaining oil from the oil cake
Oil purification
Refining

The production of sunflower oil provides by-products: oil cake and meal.

Sunflower oil is widely used in the food industry, in the production of paints and varnishes and in soap-making. It is rich in vitamins E and K.
