Soybean oil is obtained from soybeans. There are two technologies for its production:

physical pressing out
oil extraction using organic solvents

There are several types of soybean oil:

cold-pressed oil
unrefined oil
refined oil

Soybean oil occupies the 2nd place among vegetable oils in the world market. The world leader of soybean oil production is Argentina (over 40%). It is widely used in the food industry, for adding into meals and in mixed fodder production as an enriching agent. It is also used as a renewable vegetable raw material for producing non-alimentary products.

Comparing to other vegetable oils, soybean oil has the highest percentage of tocopherol (vitamin E).
