Soybeans are the fruits of cultivated soya. It is a high-protein product, widely used in the food-manufacturing industry and agriculture, being protein and oil source. It is in high demand due to extended storage time, high manufacturability and energy value. Soybeans are produced in more than 60 countries.

Soybeans are used to produce several hundreds of final products, but the main are:

• soybean meal

• soybean cake

• soybean oil

• full-fat soy

In terms of amino-acid content and protein complex, soy protein is close to animal protein. Therefore it is often used to substitute meat and dairy products.

In agriculture and the feed industry, it is valued for its low cost, rich composition, and prebiotic properties.

Soybeans contain B and C vitamins, minerals (iron, potassium, calcium, phosphorus, zinc, magnesium) and omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. Along with that, soybeans are a source of amino acids, polyunsaturated fatty acids, lecithin, phospholipids, and isoflavones.
